Have you ever seen animals beat their kids ...

“The human is a social animal!”. Does that mean we are Social & Animals. I have no doubt about being social but are we really animals, Or even worse. Hope this statement does not offend anyone Or should I really care.

I have this habit of watching documentary channels and hence I do it as often as I get some time.  I have observed while watching Nat Geo, Discovery, Animal Planet Or observing animals on my visit to the National parks & Zoos, animals never discipline their kids. Never scold them, talk to them rudely Or hit them. And the end result is a perfect kid a Cheetah kid grows up to be a perfect Cheetah, a Tiger cub eventually grows up to be the majestic Tiger, A Zebra kid is a Zebra,  a Monkey kid is a Monkey and so and so forth.

But the humans on the other hand, even when they are socially much more developed, scold Or beat up their kids for discipline, to conform to the norms of the society. The norms which are not officially laid up Or prescribed by anyone. The human wants to discipline his kid to his own individual idea of an ideal human or ideal society, forgetting the kid himself is an individual.

Should we really force our views on the kids Or do we need to learn from the animals and let the kids learn their own lessons. Please do write and share your views.

  1. So true about the animals! My take - they churn out the perfect offspring because they lead by example and not sheer preaches to their kids. We humans should learn this from them. Don't tell your kids what's right or wrong...instead, teach them through your rightful actions and abstinence from any wrong doings.
